Visions of Oʻahu

During July and August of 2021, the Resilience Office attended community events across the island to talk about the Climate Ready Oʻahu and collect Visions of Oʻahu. Visions are artistic expressions of what community members want their Oʻahu to look like in the future in the face of climate change. Check out some of the great submission we received below!

"Reducing the effects of climate change is a kuleana that should incorporate the lessons of our heritage to preserve the beauty and serenity of our islands.  A resilient O‘ahu is represented by this beautiful ‘ōhi‘a lehua blossom covered in morning dew.”

— Larry K.

“I envision a resilient and healthy Hawaiian ecosystem.”

— Georgia S. G.

“I enjoy the prospect of having more spots to nap under the shade of Poinciana trees within urban Honolulu, and appreciate the climate benefits they provide.”

— Maddy B.
